The Thali Tradition is a celebration of the original chef’s tasting. This annual festival by DSSC continues to showcase regional Indian cuisines through the thali, which is the perfect balance of sweet, sour, bitter, astringent, and salty.
After a successful first edition in 2018, DSSC wanted to present a grander, culturally-richer, immersive experience in 2019.
The Thali Tradition 2019 was housed at a pop-up in Jor Bagh – DSSC Bhavan, anode to the State Bhavans in New Delhi. This was the first time for a pop-up concept like this to be hosted in India.
DSSC Bhavan was a home where Delhi celebrated the authentic, explored the local, and revelled in the vibrancy of India. At the DSSC Bhavan, renowned chefs created6 regional Indian thalis, and diners experienced communal dining, wherein each curated service immerse them in indigenous traditions, art, science, and not to mention, bite-sized memories.
The Thali Tradition 2018 and 2019 garnered an astounding 300,000 and 500,000 organic social impressions in a matter of 3 days, respectively.
